Simple Vegetable Soup, Apple Cider Vinegar Drink, Shopping and Spring Cleaning
Hey,
SO I thought I'd try something a little different. I apologize this blog is a day late. I think Monday's may be a better release date schedule wise. I'm not sure. I am trying to have things planned a bit more ahead and then lay out an exact schedule.
Today I'm going to share a recipe for soup I made last week. I should start by saying I am no professional but hopefully my sharing can help you out. Everything I made is fairly simple. I don't really have a name for this soup as it's kind of a mixture of vegetable soup and ramen style broth. This recipe can easily be made vegan by not adding chicken ^_^. I made far too much so I have cut the recipe in half from what I made. Which should give you about 3-5 servings depending how much you eat.
I'm also going to share another recipe below for a morning drink I highly recommend you try out! If you have stomach problems and or want to lose some weight you really need to try this out! Finally, I talk a little about shopping and spring cleaning.
Anyways enjoy!

What you will need:
Broth:
- 3.5 cup of water
- 1.5 vegatable boullian
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Sesame seed oil
- 1 tsp of garlic
- pinch of salt
- pinch of pepper
Random Vegetable Soup
Add Ins:
-Vegetables of your choice
- Noodles of your choice (if you don't want gluten or want to make it even healthier skip this)
- 1 Chicken breast (or tofu, or skip this)
~~~~~~~~~~~
Place 3.5 Cups of water in a large pot and bring it to a boil. Once it is boiling place Vegetable boullians in and stir until melted. Place garlic, soy sauce, sesame seed oil, salt and pepper in. Stir and taste. Add additional bits of each if needed. You could also add spice in if you are looking for something with a little bite. (Pleace note that this amount of garlic in the picture was for double the recipe)
Chop Vegetables into small pieces. I personally put in Green, Red, Orange and Yellow Peppers, a Shallot, Green onion, Mushrooms and carrots. You could really use anything in your fridge for this part, I think cabbage or potatoes might also be a good choice. I have been on a bit of a bell pepper kick lately so they seem to be in a large majority of my cooking.
In a frying pan separately: fry small chopped up chicken to be almost fully cooked. (I suggest you do not cook it 100% to completion since we're going to put it in the soup and it will be dry)
Place all the vegetables in the soup. Cook for about 4-5 minutes. Add pasta and chicken (this depends on what past you choose, I chose small bows which cook in about 5-6 minutes). Cook for 5 minutes. If you choose a larger pasta that requires more time put that in first and when it's only 5 minutes left add the chicken in. I didn't want too much pasta in my soup so I only added about a handful.
After 5 minutes check the soup. The best way to test is trying a carrot (or any hard veggie you put in) once they are soft, the soup is done! As you can see I made FAR too much and had enough for about 7 meals lol. Which is why I changed the numbers for everyone. I took it for lunch last week and paired it with Salmas' Crackers. They are gluten free corn crackers (actually only made from 3 or 4 ingredients) they are a great substitute for soup crackers and a much healthier option.
Also in the photo but not mentioned is the Happy Planet juice. If you are looking for a juice that is actually a juice check them out! I hope this was useful. Please let me know if you want to see more of these type posts.
For those whom have stomach problems, want to improve their skin, metabolism or lose a little fat; This is the drink for you!
What you need:
- 2 tbsp Apple cider Vinegar
- 1 tbsp lime juice
Add all the ingredients together. You can also add mint if you want to get fancy. Drink in the morning preferably before eating. ^_^ That's it. I have a bit of all of the above of issues and I have not had an upset stomach since I started this. If you want to know more about the benefits of apple cider vinegar check it out here.
So if you know me, or you've been keeping up on the social media walls; I've been looking for a new laptop for several months now. I like to weigh my options and do research before buying anything. A few weeks ago I checked out the Surface at best buy. I wasn't really considering it before as I am an apple user. Also the price is basically the same as a macbook. However, personally I think quality of apple is just dying. Unfortunately they seem to be unable to keep up with their competitors. The surface though not the most high tech laptop (without spending 3k lol) it's definetly seemed like my best choice. I also like that this is like getting a small cintiq and a tablet all in one.
So I decided to branch out to the world of windows again for the first time in 12ish years lol and get the Surface. It's in the mail now! I ordered direct from Microsoft because it was the best deal. I would love to share my opinion of things in a few weeks after I've had a chance to use it a bit. I got the mid range model that is I5 processor, 8gb ram and 256gb ssd.
Spring cleaning! Ahhh yes it's that time of the year. I've never really lived in a place very long due to work. I'm now 5-6 years in to Vancouver, I am just sort of starting to accumulate things. I've also just beginning to buy nice things for my apartment. Not just craigslist and dollar store for this apartment anymore! Not that I wont continue to buy things from dollar store when possible (let's be reasonable and frugal). The reason I mention this is because this weekend I am going to do a spring cleaning and will be posting items for sale. Majority will be at a steal of a price. So stay tuned for that!
Once I'm done cleaning because I don't intend on staying where I am now. I may do an apartment tour (depending on things I may not show the outside- sorry, internet safety folks). You will see all my black! lol clothing.. furniture... everything. Haha
As always, I would love to hear your opinions, and feedback. Feel free to leave a comment below on anything from above or anything that isn't spam really! Please also share and visit my social media pages linked down below.
