Tarte Unicorn Brushes - Reviewed!

Tarte Unicorn Brushes
It seems to be a trend lately with unicorns. LOL these are much better then that terrible Starbucks drink though!
Like many people I got these purely because they are pretty. At a 50 CAD price mark I honestly wasn't expecting much. They are sold out on Sephora now (where I got them) but they are still available on Tarte's website. CLICK HERE . They offer free shipping on 75 + and give you free samples, which is snazzy ( Though I want my sephora points yoooo) They will not be there forever though. It is a limited edition item.

So for 50 dollars you get: 1 powder brush(light pink), 1 contour brush (bright pink/purple), 1 foundation brush (light purple), 1 eye shadow blending brush (green), and 1 eye shadow shading brush (blue). They are vegan and cruelty free brushes. Which is great deal and you know you're not hurting any animals to use them.
Here is what the website claims about the brushes:
"Feel like a mythical creature with this ultra-luxe, full size brush collection inspired by unicorn kisses & fantasy dreams. With an array of contour, powder, eyeshadow & foundation brushes to bring your makeup dreams to life, each gorgeously ‘grammable brush has a precious gold, unicorn-inspired handle & plush pastel, cruelty free bristles to put a touch of unicorn magic in your morning routine. "
Honestly I think these are pretty great brushes for the price and I would recommend them. I honestly thought they would be garbage or mini sized. However they are full sized, soft and beautiful! They come in a cute box and wrapped in that beautiful unicorn paper (the brushes are in their own bags tightly wrapped too).

One of the major complaints I saw with these brushes is that they seemed like they would break easy and would fall off. The bottoms are plastic but the part were bristles attach is metal and so it makes one side heavier and seems oddly weighted. I would say that I don't see the smaller brushes falling apart unless you are really rough with them. I am no professional make up artist but they seem more then fine for daily use.
My one flaw I saw was uneven bristles on the contour brush. Other then that all the brushes are nice. It's beautiful colours. Soft, dense but not overloaded brushes. They seem to apply make up great. Though the beautiful colours are ruined with make up. lol
To sum things up:
The pros: they are cute, cheap (in comparison to brushes in the quality range), They are soft and apply products (that I've tried) quite well.
The cons: weighted strange and may break if you are a savage when you put your make up on and they aren't so cute when make up gets on the brushes.

Because I ordered from Sephora I also got this highlighter. I haven't had a real chance to test it out but it was cute so I thought I would share pictures.
