A Year's worth of Ipsy Reviews

Hey!

So it's been a minute since I last posted. I apologize for the lack of posts but I have been moving and I'm hoping to move to the video format soon! Hopefully when we're all settled and I can create some form of set up there will be videos on youtube instead(or maybe also)! It's definitely easier for me to talk and edit then type. I also look forward to creating some more artistic stuff and goal related things!

Anyways, We're here to talk about Ipsy. I have been with Ipsy for exactly 1 year this month! So I think it's finally time to do a long procrastinated review. I think at 1 year I have a pretty good idea of them.

I will say when I first started it was a bit more of a guessing what I like and longer I stick with them they choose things more and more to my taste. Though occasionally I do get things I cannot/won't use. I just save them up and add them to gifts for people!

Quicky Review (out of 5 ❤) :
Price: ❤❤❤❤❤
Quality: ❤❤❤❤❤
Value: ❤❤❤❤❤

Pros:
Try new make up things
Get more then your money's worth
Not very expensive
Customization for skin types and all colours
Build up points for free stuff
Brand discounts

Cons:
"Ipsy offers" only available in USA (directly on their site)
Make up bag every month (that are often tiny)
Clicking "Adventurous" in colours doesn't get you very crazy colours (this I suppose could be a good thing depending on your choices lol)

How It Works

Every month Ipsy has a theme which they usually announce on the 1st. They will also hint at key items most people will be getting. They will also show you the design of the month's bag.  On the 5-6th they will give you the option to reveal what you received (i'm terrible at waiting for surprises so I always click to see lol) and then around 10-20th of the month you will receive your bag! (I live in Vancouver and it usually comes between 15-20th because it goes through the Ontario depot for distribution and well... Canada Post)

After you have received things, you can review them on Ipsy's site. Though I think far too many people review them as how they relate to themselves personally and not to the actual product so the reviews are not the best to look at. Each item you review gets points and it also helps toward them picking items for your next month. The review system has changed throughout the year but it basically gives you the opportunity to review the colour, brand, and type.

You can also get points by having others sign up and you get a signing up bonus as well: INSERT SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION: You can use my Link here  ;) ;) ;)

Each month you can also adjust your quiz so it can also change what you receive. So if you dye your hair or your skin seems lighter or darker throughout the year things can be adjusted. Also if there are products or types of items you really don't want anymore (LOL me and my 800 highlighters don't need anymore)

My Favourites

I thought I'd also share some of my favourites from throughout the year.

Make up Bags:
In terms of style I really love October and November from last year, Aug and march are a close 3rd. I really love March and May of this year because they are actually sized large enough to fit things. I I also love April this year if it wasn't blinding orange and fits less the an stuffed animal bag (lol reference for my lolita friends).

Over All Months:
I have to say December was definitely the month where I got more then my money's worth! The tie for second would be February (minus that bag) and March of this year. I was so surprised to receive a full size primer for my points. Amazing! Thank you Ipsy!

Individual products:
Too Faced Hangover Primer (Link here)

So now that you've seen the photos, and the run down from a full year, you can kind of make you own judgement as well. Of course these Items were customized to my answers and they have changed throughout the year. I hope my review has helped you!

What do you think? What are some of your favourites from my year of ipsy? Have or will you joined Ipsy? Are there some other subscription boxes you are enjoy?

Thanks for reading!
