Urban Decay Trouble Maker Mascara and Fall Look

Hey Everyone,

Just a quick one product Review today. I unintentionally becoming a mascara specialist. I can't seem to find one I love more then Benefit They're real but I want to try to only use cruelty free brands.

My first Video for Halloween should be up soon! I filmed it over the weekend and am hoping to have it out before Friday and I will have another up the next week!  Please check out my Youtube Channel to see it and more videos to come!

Urban Decay Trouble Maker Mascara

I love Urban Decay, They have so many amazing products but it the past I haven't been a huge fan of their mascaras. They are always just ok. For the price of mid-range mascara (usually about 30 CAD) they just don't perform spectacular you can definitely get something cheaper... BUT anyways now to thew new one!

Urban decay is cruelty free and this particular mascara is also vegan. It retails at 31 CAD and can be found in Urban Decay or Sephora.

So I bought this in the new Urban Decay store in Metrotown. They gave me this whole extra pack of goodies from them. I really love the all Nighter Spray but the rest will likely be sent to family across the way ;)  as they are all doubles of things I already have. They also told me that because it's my birthday month I can get a free shadow with my next purchase.  I think it's great they are more in Canada now! For Years I used to stalk their american site wishing that I could get their deals.

Urban Decay's Site says about the Mascara:

"Our totally-tech formula contains two different types of black pigments, giving it an intensity that’s blacker than your darkest thoughts (that’s pretty black, isn’t it?). We infused Troublemaker Mascara with a combination of hollow silica and ultralight fibers to volumize without weighing down your lashes. Vitamin E and panthenol nourish and condition, and a combination of polymers helps the mascara adhere to your lashes for lasting wear—no flaking, smearing or smudging.

Our killer custom brush is unlike any you’ve ever tried. We designed it to comb and separate lashes to make it look like you have more of them! Tiny precision hooks grab lashes to pull the product through—for an instant lash-multiplying effect. The brush actually fans out lashes as it coats them, separating and curling each lash while laying down the perfect amount of mascara. And it’s designed to reach even tiny inner-corner lashes, no matter which way you hold it.

Troublemaker Mascara comes in a double-walled, faceted tube with a prismatic finish."

Packaging
If you read any of my blogs about mascara, you know I hate when they make things weird shapes. The bottle on this is awesome! It's a very generic shape but has a ton of pretty colours! The box itself is nice and not overly large waste of paper. Overall I am pleased with the packaging. One thing I really appreciate is the flat top lid so you can have the mascara open and place it down when a cat jumps on your lap.

However.. there is one thing that is a bit of a hot mess. This brush is so odd. There are 3 rows of long spikes and then the rest are short. I'm not sure what they we're going for. The spacing of everything just isn't the best.  I also wish there were bristles on the tip to help with the bottom lashes because the long part are going to make it harder to reach bottom lashes.

Application
As I expected the long bristles made it a bit difficult to apply to the bottom lashes but hitting them at a 45 degree angle seemed to do a decent job. I did apply the mascara without a primer as I generally on day to day do not wear a lot of make up.  The first application of lower lashes turned out ok but layering the bottom lashes was a bit difficult and will take a bit practice. The mascara is definitely can be layered and looked best on me with 2 layers.

Formula
I think this is my favourite formula UD has come out for mascara. The Mascara layered nicely without becoming spider lashes. Troublemaker like other UD mascaras didn't add much to length but the volume build up is great. I think over all it's great for people looking for a voluminous mascara.

(one layer - two layers)
Wear
I wore this mascara all day; about 14 hours to be accurate. It doesn't feel heavy even with two layers. It didn't smudge or flake throughout the day. It stayed on quite nicely until I took it off. I will say this is definitely a long lasting mascara but I don't think this is a common issue with most.

Overall this mascara is nice it has some good and some bad things about it. Would I buy it again? I'm not sure. I think that it is a decent mascara but at 31 dollars I kinda want more then decent. I will say this is the best Vegan/Cruelty free mascara I have found thus far but I don't think my search for my new holy grail mascara is over. I actually have 3 more to try coming. ;)

That's it! Hope you liked this review! Below is a Make up look! Hope you like it!
