Halloween Looks - American Horror Story Witch - #3
Hey Everyone,
This weeks video is my own design. It is based off of American Horror story seasons. I really love American Horror Story. If you haven't watched it I totally suggest you watch it! Also, for those afraid of horror; this isn't a particularly scary show but it's more horror themed.
Each season has it's own theme. For example this season is cult. The great thing about this is if you don't like one season you might enjoy the next. My personal top three seasons are Asylum, Murder House and Freakshow. It is really hard to choose though!
Though they are all very different, the creators have said that there is a connection between to all seasons. There are some obvious, like reoccurring characters or characters being related. Also the reoccurring cast but there is no current obvious connection to the series. Do you have any theories?

The Look
I tried to use as many seasons as I could in my look. First, the hat, which is my blatant display of coven. Haha. A bit of a cop out but I am counting it! Second, my eyes are based off Asylum. (still my fav season). I think it is the most iconic or recognized part. Next, my lips are red. This is basically every season's poster. It's a simple thing but reoccurring in almost every season. Possibly because red is just a good horror colour... or maybe more? My neck is the circus tent from the Freakshow season. I kept it a bit messy to match most of the clown make up we see in all of AHS.
The tent fades into tree roots which is a play on a few things; The Roanoke poster/ad with the tree but also it's a bit of a shout out to the Kathy Bate's character in Coven. Who was being "tortured" by watching the Roots (not literally tree roots, the old tv show). Which has to be one of the funniest characters of all seasons. Her total lack of not understanding of the future but then accepting a drive through like it was nothing made that season. Haha. Finally, my Hair tips. This one is unintentional and more on my laziness. I haven't dyed my hair in a while so I have all kinds of faded hair colours which matches most of this season.
I really wanted to keep this a bit glamorous as well. Mixing it in with the parts that we're "creepy". Similar to some of the characters in all the seasons. So I created a glam eye with bold lashes to make it a hit of sweet mixed it with the dark.
That's it! I hope you like it and it shows how much I love the show!

Before I go I wanted to share my story about the Cecil Hotel also. For those of you who are fans of American Horror Story you know the Hotel season was filmed at the Cecil Hotel.
My friend Angela and I stayed there in April 2013. We were just hanging out in L.A. for a long weekend and seeing Kyary Pamyu Pamyu in concert. We wanted to find a place that was cheap to stay and not knowing L.A. we also wanted to stay downtown (near where the concert was). First off, if you are visiting Los Angeles and you've never been; don't stay downtown. haha Apparently this is a common mistake, and it is a mistake. With the Anyways, I found this place online called "Stay on Main". It's a hostel so the prices are much cheaper and I thought why not.
When we arrived downtown "Stay on Main" office was closed. We were told previously that because the front desk closes early we should check in at the hotel next door. Assuming that the hotel next door was actually next door... The Cecil hotel and the hostel are actually the same place. Which we thought was great because we also got the benefits of the hotel (like breakfast) and the lobby actually looked quite fancy despite the outside looking a hot mess.

We noticed some strange things about the place right away. First, there was no bathrooms in the rooms. That was not mentioned when we paid or even when we checked in. The bathroom was in the hall and there was one bathroom that also had a shower. The shower room was probably the most unkept room of them all. Just something felt really strange about the bathrooms in general beyond them being dirty. I have a thing about bathrooms because of my being into japanese urban legends.
The other thing we noticed was that there seemed to be no one else on our floor. We were on the top floor. The floor below us seemed to have maybe 1-2 people staying in it as well. It was very empty. Seemed strange. I will say the one really redeeming part of this place beside being cheap; was the waffles. haha
While we stayed there there was always sort of a strange vibe. The first night I swore I heard weird noised outside our window. Like directly outside. Which made absolutely no sense being on the top floor. We did have the fire escape there but how likely is it that people we're doodling around at like 3am on it? We also heard noise in the hall but there seemed to be no one actually staying on our floor. I remember wandering the halls with Angela trying to 1 find a less disgusting bathroom and shower room on another floor but also just looking for people. It was so quiet a lot of the time we were there, which was pretty much only at night.
Overall the whole hotel experience was both hilarious and strange for us. Of course this is the part where it relates to American Horror Story. In 2015, watching American Horror Story, Angela call me up and is telling me that AHS is totally filmed in the hotel we stayed in. One quick google search and sure enough she is right... and then we find out all the horrible things that happened then. Literally 2 months before we stayed there Elisa Lam was found. It was insane! Honestly, I am not sure I would have stayed there knowing what I do now. Also, had I known any of that history I would have been WAY more terrified about the strange noises both outside our window and in the halls.
Haha creepy strange story I had to share...
~~~~~~~
I hope you enjoyed my new video! haha and don't think I am insane after watching it. Thank you for watching and reading! Next week,I am going to be a clown. Can you guess which one? Also is there a look you want to see me do? let me know below!
