Fukubukuro / Lucky Bags 2018

It's Fukubukuro season!
About Fukubukuro:
For those who do not know what a Fukubukuro is, it is a Japanaese lucky bag. Fuku means "good fortune" or "luck" and fukuro means "bag". These bags have basically become a huge tradition in Japan that started in the Meiji period. Lucky bags generally come out on new years but often stores now have them at golden week and also during the summer.
On New years day they have Bags that are a mystery to the buyer but the advantage is that it is much cheaper then the contents in the bag. People will line up and go to every store they love to get a great deal. Prices range from 5 dollars to 500 depending on what you are getting but generally you get at least double the value. They used to only be available in store but over the last few years you have been able to reserve them online ahead of time as well.
There are also several types of lucky bags. There are the true lucky bags that are completely random. Lucky bags where you know exactly what you are getting (sometimes you can even choose the colour) and then lucky bags that are a mix of the two.
I wanted to share a few that interested me this year. All of the ones I'm after unfortunately have sold out online but I am hoping I can still get one or two of them in store. If you'd like to know all about how I shop in japan without living there let me know I can make another post about it!

Pokemon

This one was probably made popular by the ton of youtube videos that came out last year of them. Check out Sharla's video or Jason's video for full details of last years.
Pokemon is self explanatory but basically this one comes with one of the plushies shown and the bag he sits in but there is a random amount of items in the bag. Last year people received a ton of plushies, mugs, stickers, stationary and cards.
This year seems particularly targeted at pikachu... so if you're a pika fan keep your eye out for this one too! There is also an apparel one that temps me but I really do not need any more t-shirts.

Wego

A pretty famous brand in Japan, Starting in Osaka in 1994. Wego it's self is more the basics and could be compared to HM or something with a wide range of things that are current styled. Wego is a a huge company that now has 5 or 6 sub-sectioned brands. Including WC (more below), Punyus ( a plus size brand), and many more.
I really love the look of this lucky bag. This is one that gives you a pretty detailed view of what you will see. Last years was very much my style too. I was tossed between Wego and One spo but decided to go with one spo.
Wego also has two others that is completely random fukubukuro. One that is 100 dollars and 200 dollars.

WC

A brand that is connected to wego and has been around for quite awhile as well. They often have a more distinct style it's very "kawaii" while still being casual. They tend to carry black, white and pastel pinks or purples as their main colour choices. Which is great colour in my opinion ;) particularly the black of it all.

Beautylish

This is the only one I am interested in that hasn't already launched online. It also is not coming from Japan. It's local to the USA but is available world wide. By the time this post comes out though it should be up!
Beautylish is a make up site that sells mid to high end make up.
I know last year they had two options one at 75usd and one at 150usd. Both from what I've seen are WELL worth the money. In the past they have given you Natasha Denona palettes and so much more!
I am really going to try for this one. Make up <3
