Kylie Cosmetics Review

So I've officially fallen to peer pressure. I bought some stuff from Kylie Cosmestics. I know I've heard it's over rated by some and others say they are amazing but I had to test out these bad boys myself. Find out below my uneducated opinion.

I've recently decided to start wearing lipsticks. I am not 100% sure why. I think mostly because I like the look of a matte lip. 

I shared this order one of my cousins who I think would probably is more qualified to review lipsticks then me. I do not have much to compare Kylie to other then my Too Faced Matte Lipsticks. I also tried a Mary Kay one (which I do not recommend but it was free) I did also get the Burgundy Palette. Eyeshadow is more my speciality. So as a for warning my opinion may change with me becoming more knowledgeable.

As a run down Here is what I ordered:

Burgundy Kyshadow Palette
Candy K lip kit
Holiday Edition 4 pack (two glosses and two mattes)
Holiday Edition 6 pack minis (all mattes)

The price is about average. Like I said I have only purchased Too Faced and higher end brands so I can't really compare to other lower end brands.

 

I order firect from Kylie's site and was lucky enough to snag holiday stuff the first round (I'm sure there has been a few rounds since)The Holiday 4 pack includes Cupid Angel, Blitzin and Noel. The Holiday 6 pack of Minis included: Moon Ginger, Kristen, Angel, Love Bite and Vixen.

Here are swatches in order listed above. One thing I noticed right away is there are a TON of brown colours and they really are not my style. I split the minis with my cousin for this reason. I did keep Love Bite though. I kinda like it. Maybe in the future I will get bolder and try more brown colours.

 

They are very Long lasting. that is for sure. Also washing off with just soap was a tad hard. Heads up for those who do not have make up remover on hand. Luckily I do. Above is a picture after 2 washing with soap.

 

From the regular products I just started with one lip kit. I picked Candy K from pictures I've seen and some Youtube videos. I also did this whole order because I wanted a palette with reds.oranges and the Burgundy palette was the first one I found with good reviews that wasn't over 100 dollars. I was originally going to buy the Huda Palette but it had extremely disappointing reviews and was 80 dollars.




Here are swatches of both. The shadows are just one swipe with my finger. As you can see nothing disappoints. I LOVE the eye shadows. This palette is just breath taking and I highly recommend it. I was after some red and orange tones and I am super happy with this choice over the Huda palette.

I will say I've worn the palette shadows twice now. They lasted the entire day very nicely and blended amazing!

People had mentioned to me that the Matte's were drying. I'm not sure this is true. I didn't find they made my lips drier then they already were. However, they do not add any moisture and they do show every flaw your lips currently have. As you can see how dry my lips were the day I tried this.

I would just recommend moisturize and do a lip scrub before wearing it and they will go on and look much nicer.

  

I have to say the packaging it beautiful. Both the throw away stuff and the actual packaging. The holiday Edition is silver where the regular  version is black. lol Minus the teeth. I think it would be cuter with a closed mouth. I know it's minor but black and silver teeth just does not seem appealing to me.

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised and happy with all the products. none of them are streaky and even the colours I wouldn't normally pick out turned out to be great. I look forward to trying more of her collection in the future.
